Fresh New Year, Fresh New Kitchen! When it comes to remodeling our home, the first space we think about is our kitchen. Let’s talk about kitchen trends and what interior designers are doing for 2019.

Last year we saw many innovative kitchen trends, raging from combining rustic and modern styles to mixing and matching finishes. Whether you are planning to go ahead with a full kitchen renovation or you just want to get inspired for a simple refresh, we have a list of the trends most interior designers are looking forward to implementing in 2019.

Tall Backsplashes

Higher backsplashes can give a fresh, modern look to any kitchen. In contrast to regular height backsplashes, ceiling-height splashbacks can give a kitchen a touch of brightness and openness. We saw this trend last year and will continue to see it this year as it gives introduction to our next trend. Check our Glass Backsplashes https://bellissimocolors.com/kitchen-backsplash/

Open Shelving

Replacing kitchen cabinets with open shelving and implementing tall backsplashes give kitchens the vibe 2019 seems to be all about–Vintage and Minimalist. “Inspired by hotel and retail spaces, this adds to the overall bold statements many want to make in their homes, forgoing the minimalism that was popular in years past” – Sara Ianniciello

Integrated Appliances

This trend continues to be very popular this new year because of its seamless look. This clean-sharp look allows you to focus on details and features to help your kitchen pop as appliances won’t take much of your eye’s attention.

Matte Black

This crispy look is not for everyone, but if you are going for a bold look for your kitchen, a touch of matte black will add a little bit of “drama” without darkening the space too much. This would look perfect in a kitchen on the lighter side with a touch of wood. On the other hand, you could also go with matte black cabinetry, which we think looks fantastic.

“Statement hanging pendants will be important in denoting different areas within an open-plan space. Anchoring the dining area will be particularly important and sculptural jewelry, like pendants in hard finishes with a mid-century Italian influence, will be popular in luxury developments.” – Katherine Pooley

Of course, these are not all the kitchen trends we are going to see in 2019. But we can begin to make plans for our kitchen already with these ideas. And don’t worry, we will keep you updated on what’s HOT!
